Cascada Mobile Announces New President; Addition of Strategic Advisors

TORONTO—April 11, 2006— Cascada Mobile, a provider of technology for peer-to-peer mobile content distribution, today announced that Neil Closner has joined the company as president. In this role, Closner will guide the company’s strategic direction and maintain responsibility for identifying new opportunities for Cascada’s TAG mobile content referral technology. The company also announced the addition of two strategic advisors, Perry LaForge and Sanjoy Malik. These two mobile industry veterans further extend Cascada’s leadership team, and will help drive the vision and support the go-to market strategy for the company’s peer-to-peer mobile content distribution technology.

Neil Closner joins Cascada Mobile following his role as principal of GSI Advisors, a strategic management consultancy firm where he applied his extensive expertise in new media, entertainment, software and technology. Prior to founding GSI, Closner was President and Chief Executive Officer of Baby Universe, Inc., a company he successfully grew from start-up into an industry leading online retailer of juvenile products. Closner was previously an associate with a private equity investment boutique in New York City, and also worked as an investment banker at Citigroup/Salomon Smith Barney. He holds a Masters of Business Admission (MBA) from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Arts (with Distinction) in Economics and Commerce from McGill University and The London School of Economics and Political Science.
Perry LaForge is Founder, Executive Director and Chairman of the CDMA Development Group (CDG), a trade association comprised of over 100 of the world’s leading wireless operators and manufacturers. He is responsible for overseeing the expansion of CDMA technology worldwide and leading the evolution of the technology through the CDG’s subcommittees. LaForge has led the development and worldwide commercialization of CDMA since the first proof of concept trials in 1988, and was instrumental in the introduction of CDMA as a second digital standard globally and in its evolution to next generation digital technology.
With more than 25 years of experience working with high technology companies in domestic and international markets, La Forge participates on several industry committees. A frequent speaker at industry events, LaForge has worked with government officials throughout the world to develop telecommunications policies. He is a regular guest columnist for several publications, he also speaks with broadcast outlets and business papers on topics relating to the wireless industry. LaForge has a Bachelor of Engineering degree (magna cum laude) and was awarded a Masters of Business Degree (MBA) from the Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth College.
Sanjoy Malik is President and Chief Executive Officer of Air2Web. Since founding the company in 1999, Malik has led it to the forefront of the mobile industry, positioning Air2Web as a leading developer of mobile messaging and marketing applications for enterprises and carriers. Malik also founded Synchrologic (a Nokia company) and has held leadership positions at Sales Technologies and Intergraph. Mr. Malik holds dual Master's degrees in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Florida. He has a B-Tech degree in Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology in Delhi.
